NOTE:  15 other PHRF boats sailed in this regatta with the Catalina 22's.  On Saturday in extremely high winds, a C & C 38 demonstrated a spectacular spinnaker broach going dead down wind that later became a death roll to windward with their spinnaker pole caught in the water.  It was truly something to see.  Both Gold Rush and Game Over, who were sailing to the windward mark, had to move out of the way to avoid being run over during the maneuver.  On Sunday, the same C&C 38 blew out that big white spinnaker.  By the way, Gene said this was the most wind he had sailed in during the 15 years he has sailed a Catalina 22.
