2003 Results

3 clubs, and 11 boats in 3 classes turned out for the Challenge Regatta on Saturday, Nov 8.

The weather was overcast and drizzly, but warm, and there was a good wind (most of the time). Race Committee was Bob Sowden and helpers on the dry and comfortable Miss Too.

Bob and Chuck Delmater selected a 12.6 mile race consisting of 3 triangles using the N mark as the windward mark, and marks 102, 101, and 100 as the wing marks (NE course).

MYC managed to hold onto the Cup that they won away from ECSA at the MYC Fall Regatta, though IRYC fielded a strong team, too. ECSA sailed one boat short, and therefore didn't really have much of a chance. Each club fielded at least one Melges 24, and only one Melges' score for each club was allowed in the scoring.

MYC hosted the awards ceremony, serving hot buttered rum to the wet and tired racers (thank you Jack & Jacki). Generally, a good time was had by all.
