Blue Water Cruising - Marlene Sassaman, Spray
Awarded to the skipper logging the greatest
distance offshore. Blue water is considered ocean cruising
port-to-port. |
Bahamas Cruising - No Award
Awarded to the skipper logging the greatest
distance, while cruising in and to the Bahama Islands. |

Edward S. Lazowska Trophy - Del Wiese
The Edward S. Lazowska Memorial Trophy is presented in
recognition of the outstanding and dedicated support of ocean racing shown
by Ed and Genie Lazowska. Aboard their yacht Genie, a 26-foot
Westerly, they provided many years of tireless race committee duty both on
the river and offshore. This trophy is now awarded for the best overall
ocean racing performance by an ECSA skipper. The Edward S. Lazowska Memorial
Trophy replaced the H.T.I. Cup which was presented from 1972 to 1987. |
Florida Waters Cruising - Terri
and George Schorn
Awarded to the skipper logging the greatest
single cruise distance while cruising in Florida waters. |
Indian River Cruising - Joe and
Karen Coleman
Awarded to the skipper actively
participating throughout the year in the most ECSA sponsored
short distance weekend cruises. |
Inland Water Cruising - Bob Wiley
Awarded to the skipper logging the greatest
accumulative cruise distance while cruising the inland waterways
to a destination outside Florida. |
Jim Ross Memorial Trophy (Motor
Vessel Cruising) - Bob and Karen Sowden
Awarded to the member logging the greatest
distance in any given calendar year on a single voyage, either
blue water and/or inland waters in a motor vessel (not a
sailboat0. This award was created to recognize the cruising
accomplishments of ex-sailors who have moved over to power
vessels. |
Robert X. Perry Trophy - Jim Henry/Rochelle
Yates, J Mouse
The Robert X. Perry Trophy was initiated to replace the
Woodward Cup. After having won the Woodward Cup four years in a row, from
1983 thru 1986, the cup was retired to Bob Perry for his tireless support of
the ECSA for many years. The Robert X. Perry Trophy is awarded to the ECSA
skipper of the boat that achieves the best overall results in ECSA river
racing series each year. |
Gene King Trophy - No Award
The Gene King Memorial Trophy honors one of the founders
and tireless boosters of ECSA. It is awarded to the ECSA member who is the
most successful racing skipper in this area. The qualifying races include
all major club regattas, and PCYC ocean races. Skippers who feel qualified
for this trophy must submit their claims to the ECSA board of governors by
December 1st of the year claimed. Skippers should submit their
best places in class, as well as overall places in fleet using overall
corrected times. |
Jubilee Trophy - Jim Henry/Rochelle
Yates, J Mouse
The
Indian River Jubilee, a several-day festival in mid-February, was
inaugurated in 1977 by the Chamber of Commerce. During the Jubilee
festivities, several of the ECSA Winter Series races are held. The city of
Satellite Beach has donated a trophy to the ECSA to be awarded to the
skipper of the boat with the lowest accumulated points during the Winter
series river races. |
Women’s Overall - Linda Tillman,
Mischief
The
Women’s Championship Trophy is awarded to the skipper of the boat with the
best overall score in the ECSA Women’s Spring and Fall Series. The women’s
races are contested between boats skippered and crewed by women only. |
