Rochelle Yates rochellery@bellsouth.net
Satellite Beach, FL

Originally owned by Paul Lindenberg and sailed as Racer's Edge.

Sold in 1988 to Joe Merkle and Lee Estes, and sailed out of Lake Lanier.  Found a reference to a Lee Estes who won an annual trophy in a Lindenberg 28 in 1988 from the Atlanta Inland Sailing Club.

Actively sailed in Lake Lanier 1999-2000 by Linda Merkle.

Bought in 2003 by Dean Holcomb, and named Just Friends.  Dean fixed it up and raced it for awhile and then sold it to Jim Henry in 2005.  Standard rig (whatever that means), rating 117.  Dean says it was built in 1982.  Probably hull #2???

Jim Henry purchased this boat in April 2005, and renamed it Mouse.  It now resides in the Melbourne area and is part of the Melbourne fleet of L28's.

Hull #3 - Fast Lane
Will Garvey wgarvey@bellsouth.net
Phil Scalise loscalise@aol.com

Web Page

Original owner was Herb Shipp of Merritt Island.  It was raced in East Central Florida for a number of years by Herb.  Herb donated Fast Lane to Fla Institute of Technology in ??.

Sherry Beckett bought Fast Lane as a near-derelict in 2000, renovated it, and has been racing it actively since.

Sherry Beckett sold Fast Lane to Will Garvey and Phil Scalise in 2006. The boat is currently being helmed by Marlene Sassaman in the ladies ECSA series. Tom Knowlton helms her in the ECSA coed series. Fast Lane is docked at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club.

    Info Page       Website

The original name was Star Struck, and owned by Cam Bahn.  At one point in the distant past, it was sailed out of Davis Island by Al Kacin.

It was recently owned by Paul Silvernail (masthead@mastheadsailinggear.com ), and named Masthead Madness, and raced in the Tampa area from ____ to 2003.  Steve Schultz bought the boat in late 2003, and renamed her Star Struck.

Web Page

Original owner was Greg Popp.

Gary Smith bought Five Speed in 1987, and has been racing it very successfully in Central Florida and the Bahamas.  3-time winner of Abaco Race Week, Five Speed is well known (and feared) in the Florida racing circles.

Eric Schwab bought Fivespeed in April of 2008 and it now races out of Norfolk, VA.

Hull #6 - Creole Cookin'
Jim Yates & Jim Henry purchased the boat as a partnership and named her Rookey. She is now one of the fastest Lindenberg's on the water with a new fitting name, Bad Penny

Jim Yates jimyates@yachtcarisma.com

Web Page

Originally sailed in Louisiana.  One owner, maybe not the first, was Tom Beery of Pascagoula, MS.

Then Creole Cookin' was in the Chesapeake area.  Bought by Bill Bounds, cheap, in 2002.

Bought in early 2004 by Jim Yates and Jim Henry and renamed 'Rookey'. Won Abaco Race Week in B Fleet in 2004! Jim Yates bought Jim Henry's share of Rookey in 2005. The boat remains in Satellite Beach under the new name Bad Penny.

Hull #7 - Ligero
Also was named Coyote Ugly
Currently named Bang!??
Sail # 93039

Not sure where this boat is today.
Originally sailed in Florida.  Paul Silvernail says "Hull # 7 originally owned by Al Thompson - the boats name was Ligero - this was a standard rig boat - sailed out of the Davis Island Yacht Club....

Bought by Dave Gendell (dgendell4@mindspring.com) in Annapolis, MD, and renamed Bang!.  Sailed in the Annapolis area from 1994-2001.

Reportedly donated to the Cornell Sailing Team in 2000.  Contact there is Andrew Davis: aed13@cornell.edu

As far as we can tell (as related by Dave Gendell) this boat has not been in circulation since 2000, though he states that he has heard that it is soon to be sailing again.

Hull #8 - Zulu Warrior
Was named Panache at some point
Currently Named Zulu Warrior

Sail # 40692?
LDB00010H585

Kristin & Jeff Mason
kmason2@suscom-maine.net
Maine
tall-rig

It appears that either Zulu Warrior or Addiction is actually Hull #7, but one was mislabeled.

Originally named Zulu Warrior, and owned by Bill Coolidge in Jacksonville, FL.

Paul Silvernail thinks this became a Davis Island Yacht Club boat named Panache, and sailed by Jim Walters.

At some point, it was renamed Zulu Warrior and moved to Annapolis.  Race results from Annapolis show Zulu Warrior, Sail #40692 was racing MORC from 1996 to 2000.

Butch Minson said it was donated around 1999 to 'Friends of St. Mary's College'

In 2003 it was bought by Kristin and Jeff Mason who sailed for a year or so out of Patuxent, MD.  As of Spring 2005, they are in the process of moving to Maine and will race the boat there.
