the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.

and
crew, Simon
Koumjian,
Jim Henry,
Tom Knowlton,
James McTavish,
Jim Edwards,
Phil Spletter, Karl Kramer
and
Mike Vergala for their
first place finish in the PHRF C class of the Ft. Lauderdale to
Key West Race on
Santarella, a Baltic
38. They finished 4th overall. Santarella also won the
Dowager's Award for being the oldest boat in her class.
Del
Wiese's boat Chasing Rainbows,
a Hunter 37, with crew
Claude Auger, Jim Boyd, Gary Briand, Bob Howley, Steve Padgett
and Jim Lacy
withdrew because they were not going to finish within the 48
hour time limit. The only other boat to finish in the PHRF C
class besides Santarella was Sunquest.
Dale LeVey
of Indian River Yacht Club crewed on
Mirage, a Hobie 33,
that was demasted at the start of the race when the winds were
25 MPH +.
Randy Talbot
of Indian River Yacht Club was on
Dragon Fly Plus, a
Swan 53, which came in 6th in the PHRF A Class and 11th overall.
